Privacy Policy

Short version: Temper keeps your fasting log on your device. No ads, no analytics, no tracking. The only data that ever leaves your phone is an optional buddy profile, and only if you choose to connect with a friend.

Temper ("the app") is an intermittent fasting timer published by Clearpoint Studios. This policy explains exactly what the app does and does not do with information. It is intentionally simple because the app is intentionally simple.

What stays on your device

Your fasting sessions, plans, settings, and statistics are stored locally on your device only. This data never leaves your phone unless you choose to export or share it (see below), or connect with a buddy (see below). Uninstalling the app removes this data.

Fasting buddies (optional)

Temper has an optional feature that lets you connect with a friend using a friend code so you can keep each other accountable. It stays off until you open it and choose to share, and the rest of the app works fully without it.

If you use it, a small profile is created on our backend so your buddy can see it. It holds only what you decide: a display name (which can be anonymous), an optional short bio, your time zone, optional goals, a randomly generated friend code, and, if you turn sharing on, your current fasting streak and the label of your plan (for example 16:8). Your individual fasting sessions and history are never uploaded. We never ask for your email or a password; the feature uses an anonymous app identifier, not a personal account.

This data is hosted by Supabase on servers in the European Union (Frankfurt, Germany), encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest, with access restricted so that a profile is readable only by you and the buddies you connect with. We never sell it and never share it with advertisers.

Deleting your buddy data

You can remove your buddy profile and disconnect every buddy at any time from inside the app: open the buddies area, go to your profile, and tap "Delete my buddy data". This deletes everything from the backend immediately and cannot be undone. You can also request deletion at temperfast.com/delete or by emailing us with your friend code. This has no effect on the fasting data stored on your device.

Notifications

Temper can send local notifications (for example, when your fasting goal is reached). These are scheduled and delivered entirely on your device. No notification content is sent to or through us.

Exporting and sharing

You can export your data (e.g. as CSV or JSON) and share it using your device's share sheet. This action is initiated by you, and you alone decide where the file goes. We never receive a copy.

Health platforms

Temper may offer optional integration with Apple Health or Health Connect in a future update. If and when you enable it, any health data is exchanged directly between the app and the platform on your device, and it is never uploaded to us or any third party. This integration is off by default and not active in the current build.

Analytics, tracking, and advertising

There are none. Temper contains no third-party analytics, no advertising SDKs, no crash-reporting services, and no tracking of any kind.

Purchases

Temper is completely free. There is nothing to buy inside the app, no subscription and no advertising. The app includes the RevenueCat SDK solely so that we can see how many devices have the app installed; it is not used to sell anything, and it receives no personal data beyond an anonymous, app-generated install identifier.

Data retention

Your on-device data (fasting sessions, plans, settings, and statistics) is kept on your device for as long as the app is installed. It is removed as soon as you uninstall the app or clear it from within the app. We never receive a copy of it, so there is nothing for us to retain.

If you use the optional buddy feature, your buddy profile is retained on our backend only for as long as that profile exists. The moment you delete it (inside the app or at temperfast.com/delete) it is permanently removed from the backend and is not kept afterwards, aside from any short-lived operational backups our hosting provider rotates out within 30 days. We do not retain any data after you ask us to delete it.

Children

Temper is a general-audience wellness app and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date.
